More than 60 countries are VISA FREE to visit Mongolia

Mongolia has recently updated its visa regulations, making it easier than ever to visit this beautiful country. Now, citizens from over 60 countries can enjoy visa-free entry for a specified duration.

Here is the list of countries whose citizens can enter Mongolia without a visa: 

Visa-Free Countries
Citizens from 27 other countries can enter Mongolia visa-free for various periods. These countries include Russia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States.

*The citizens of Mongolia and Ukraine need to present official invitations. 

The Mongolian government now allows citizens from 34 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, and Estonia, to visit visa-free for up to 30 days. This temporary regulation is valid until December 2025.

The government of Mongolia has started issuing e-visas to citizens of 98 countries to support tourism and increase the number of tourists.

Citizens of eligible countries are able to apply for 3 categories of e-visa through evisa.mn 

K2 visa for tourist;

K4 visa for participants in sports or cultural and arts events, as well as creating films and content;

K6 visa for transit (for transit - up to 10 days) 

E-visa applicants are no longer required to submit his/her passport and original supporting documents to the nearest Diplomatic Missions of Mongolia in person and to receive e-visa by his/her email within 72 hours. However, applicants are advised to hold a digital or printed version of his/her e-visa to present to airlines and Mongolian border officials when travelling to Mongolia.
Foreign nationals not in the above-listed countries must submit their visa application at the nearest Embassy of Mongolia. 

Diplomatic and Official Passports

Special visa exemptions are also in place for holders of diplomatic and official passports from several countries. These exemptions often extend the duration of stay beyond the standard 30 days. Check the specific conditions for your country.

United Nations Laissez-Passer Holders

Holders of United Nations Laissez-Passer (UNLP) and officials of UN Specialized Agencies traveling to Mongolia for business or residency are exempt from visa requirements for up to 30 days as of 2007.
